Acronym for wireless local-area network. Also referred to as LAWN. A type of local-area network that uses high-frequency radio waves rather than wires to communicate between nodes.
A network that uses wireless means to transmit data from one point to another, rather than by using a more traditional wired LAN (local-area network) configuration. Also referred to as LAWN (local-area wireless network).
