Our Definition   A server is the part of a network that stores, manages, shares and/or delivers resources to other computers on that network. For example, files on a server can be stored on the server and then accessed by other computers on the network. Types of servers include file servers, print servers, network servers, and database servers; dedicated servers only exist as servers, while nondedicated servers can be used for other functions in addition to the server function.
